The Rural Cemetery Movement came to Indianapolis in 1863 with the opening of Crown Hill Cemetery. The cemetery quickly became an iconic place to bury loved ones, military heroes, presidents, the famous, and the infamous. Director of Historic Preservation Jeannie Regan-Dinius will explore the legacy of the cemetery, those buried there, and the cemetery’s significance in Indiana's history. This Clinton County Genealogical Society meeting is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Library’s lower level meeting room
